The Monkey Casino

I have personally dubbed our home game location “The Monkey Casino” basically because I play poker twice a week with a bunch of monkeys. This title derives from constant misdeals, string bets, pot splashing, side pot confusion and game delays such as somemonkey knocking their entire stack of chips into the main pot.

Here’s the line up.

“Me-Boy”, and or Timmy Me-Boy, it’s his pad, he’s way neurotic and tries to keep the chaos and messes to a minimum. Unsucessfully.
“Dom”, nicknamed after J Dahmer, there are so many damn Daves this nickname just stuck, he’s not a cannibal, gay, or a killer
“Novella”, this is what Spanish Soap Operas are called, because every hand is drama, he can’t decide what to do fast ever, and then ends up folding the hand anyway.
“O.G. MB” simply meaning “Original Monkey Business” this guy never deals a clean hand, always bets nutty, with uneven stacks that need to be counted, and loves to raise big with gut shots. Drives me nuts!
“Chadwick”, its just an add on to his real name, but lord he is my nemesis, we always go head, but I notices don’t lose as much to him when I flirt and sit next to him.
“The Thousandaire” Nick- named for all the casino tourneys he’s entered and won, cash in the thousands, he is one of my favorite players, because he plays a very traditional game and get angry when the newbies play against him and win with crap, the anger is so entertaining.

We play with more guys, but they haven’t gotten nick names yet.

Last night we played some ten dollar tourneys. I was dealing, the very rare occasion accrued, I had a slight misdeal. I saw the card I was tossing across the table and confessed to the recip I had seen it. One of the guys made a comment “she’s honest”. It made me think.
Believe me, I am not honest, but I have honest integrity, and I’m honestly competitive. I trust my skill and have confidence in my game, I couldn’t cheat if I wanted to.
Wish I could say the same for the rest of the crew! BTW I lost all three tourneys, maybe I shouldn’t have started drinking Mimosas at breakfast.
